  •  Migrating blackbirds regularly gather in our grain field as fall weather brings the first light snows.  They move in large flocks, jumping between gleaning the fields and roosting on the power lines.  We look for them to show up each year with anticipation.

  • Sapsuckers live in the cottonwood and aspen groves found in the wetter parts of our valley.  You don't see the sapsuckers much, but, you do see the distinct pattern of holes they drill in the trees to harvest sap.  This piece captures the marks that these creatures leave on the landscape.
